Delivery Driver Arrested in Shooting of Postal Worker

Everett, WA — February 5, 2026 — A delivery driver was arrested after allegedly shooting a U.S. postal worker in the face during a confrontation at an apartment complex.

Incident Details

On Friday, February 3, 2026, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Everett police responded to reports of a shooting at the West Mall Place Apartments, located on W Mall Dr just north of Highway 99. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, a USPS postal worker, suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to Postal Inspector John Wiegand, the incident occurred as the carrier was delivering mail at the complex. Wiegand stated, “At that time, he was confronted by another individual, and then a small altercation took place where the carrier was unfortunately shot in the face.” The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center and is currently in stable condition.

Investigation and Arrest

The motive behind the confrontation is still under investigation. Wiegand mentioned that there appeared to be some kind of verbal altercation prior to the shooting. The Everett Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
