Fort Lauderdale mobile home fire displaces two residents

A fire destroyed a mobile home on the 1000 block of Northeast 63rd Court in Fort Lauderdale on Aug. 25, displacing two adult residents. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue received multiple calls about the blaze at approximately 9:45 a.m.

One resident escaped safely, while the other was away when the fire began. Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames and extinguished the fire in about 20 minutes using water and firefighting foam. No human injuries were reported.

A cat believed to have been inside could not be located when the incident was reported. Its condition and whereabouts were not known. A fire investigator was continuing to work to determine the cause, which had not been established.
