Fox Point’s 2026 sewer-lining work continues through summer

Fox Point is continuing a 2026 project to rehabilitate approximately 5,500 linear feet of sanitary sewer main, according to a July 8 update from the Village of Fox Point. The work is expected to continue through summer, although weather and other factors may affect the timing.

How the sewer work will be done

Contractors are using cured-in-place pipe lining, a process that installs a liner inside existing sewer structures rather than requiring the main to be opened through conventional excavation. Each sewer section typically takes eight to 10 hours to complete.

What residents may notice

The village says contractors are expected to hang door notices at least one day before work begins in an area. Those notices are intended to give affected residents advance information about upcoming activity.

During the pipe-curing process, some residents may notice a temporary odor coming from floor drains. The village describes the odor as non-toxic. It recommends putting two to five gallons of water into a floor drain to help dissipate it.

The possible odor is a temporary effect of the work, while traffic changes and short detours may affect access near an active section. The village has not said that every Fox Point street will be affected.

Timing and updates

The project is scheduled to continue through the summer, but the official notice does not identify a final completion date. The village’s June seasonal update said residents should use project pages and weekly administrative reports for changing construction information.
