Galloway Township Gives Final Passage to Temporary Data-Center Moratorium

Galloway Township recorded final passage of an ordinance establishing a temporary moratorium on data centers, marking a new land-use action that will pause or limit data-center development decisions while the township considers its policy.

Ordinance 2172-2026 was listed as finally passed on July 15, 2026, on the township’s public-notices page. The notice identifies the measure as a temporary data-center moratorium.

A separate redevelopment ordinance

The same July 15 notice set records final passage of Ordinance 2173-2026, a redevelopment plan for US Homes, LLC. The township separately lists a redevelopment-plan document dated July 7, 2026.

The two ordinances address different matters. The data-center measure concerns temporary limits on a type of development, while Ordinance 2173 concerns a redevelopment plan associated with US Homes, LLC. The available notice does not describe the redevelopment plan’s scale, unit count or construction timetable.

That distinction matters as Galloway reviews development proposals and land-use policy. Final passage of the redevelopment ordinance should not be read as evidence that a specific construction project has received every approval needed to proceed.
