Haverford Township zoning rewrite advances as Havertown sewer-lining bids close

HAVERTOWN, PA — Haverford Township is moving forward with a zoning-ordinance update while a separate bid process for sanitary-sewer lining has reached its deadline, creating two active municipal matters for property owners and residents to follow.

The township’s zoning update series was listed as a current item in township materials updated July 22. The 2026 summer newsletter describes a public-review process and says the update could proceed to formal adoption after that review. The available materials do not establish that the rewrite has been adopted or identify its final language.

Zoning changes remain under review

If eventually adopted, the zoning rewrite could change land-use rules affecting property owners across Havertown and the wider Haverford Township community. For now, it remains a proposal under review rather than a final ordinance.

Township materials identify the administrative building at 1014 Darby Road in Havertown. The zoning update series includes meetings listed for Aug. 3, Aug. 6, Aug. 10, Aug. 13 and Aug. 20, according to the township’s July 22 update.

Sewer bids closed Aug. 3

Separately, Haverford Township solicited sealed bids for “Sanitary Sewer Lining, Various Areas,” identified as Contract SS-51. The bid process opened July 8 and closed Aug. 3, 2026, at 10 a.m.

The solicitation required each bid to include a certified check or bid bond worth at least 10% of the bid amount. The approved materials do not identify a winning contractor, the contract amount, the exact streets involved or a construction schedule.

That means the completed bid deadline does not by itself establish that work has been awarded or scheduled. If the project proceeds, planned sewer infrastructure work could bring construction activity or access disruptions, while the lining work is intended as longer-term system maintenance.
