New Hercules Herald issue posted

The city has published the February 2026 issue of the Hercules Herald, the monthly digital newsletter from the City Manager’s office. The latest edition went online Thursday afternoon and is meant to give residents a one‑stop snapshot of city activities, project updates and other local news.

Residents who aren’t already receiving it by email can sign up through the city’s website and read the issue online. It’s a useful way to track long‑running initiatives and stay current on upcoming meetings, recreation programs and other announcements without waiting for the next council session.

Civic meetings and a pancake breakfast ahead

City Hall will be busy this week. The Community and Library Services Commission is scheduled to meet Monday evening, followed by the regular City Council meeting on Tuesday, February 10, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 111 Civic Drive. Agendas and background reports are available through the city’s online calendar and meeting portal.

On Thursday, February 12, from 8 to 10 a.m., the Senior Center Event Hall at 111 Civic Drive will host the fourth annual “Breakfast with a Badge” pancake breakfast. The event is free for seniors, but seating is capped at 100 and the city is asking people to reserve a spot by phone in advance.

Lunar New Year lion dance in town Tuesday

Families looking to celebrate Lunar New Year close to home have a local option this week. A lion dance and martial arts demonstration is scheduled in Hercules on Tuesday, February 10, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., as part of a wider lineup of East Bay Lunar New Year events.

The program is designed as a family‑friendly cultural celebration, with organizers encouraging residents to treat it as an easy weeknight outing rather than an all‑day festival. If you plan to go, keep an eye on the event listing for any last‑minute updates on location or registration.
