Holladay-UDOT intersection project moves into summer construction window
Holladay and the Utah Department of Transportation are moving an intersection improvement project into its planned construction window, with work scheduled to begin as early as July 8 and continue through October 2026.
The project covers two intersections: 6200 South and 2300 East, and 6200 South and Holladay Boulevard. UDOTโs project summary identifies Holladay City as its local partner and lists the project reference as FA-2186.
For residents, commuters and businesses using those roads, the July-through-October window means the intersections will be active transportation work zones during the summer and early fall. Drivers using 6200 South, 2300 East and Holladay Boulevard should expect construction-related traffic changes while the improvements are carried out.
Traffic details are still to be announced
The project summary sets the overall construction window but does not provide a final traffic-control schedule or specific lane-closure dates. It also does not state the projectโs total cost.
That means drivers do not yet have a published day-by-day schedule for closures or other intersection restrictions from the project summary. The work is scheduled to start as early as July 8, rather than on a date described as certain, and the listed end of the construction window is October.
The two locations are important connections along 6200 South in Holladay. Work at both intersections places the project directly on routes used by people traveling through the city, making the construction period relevant beyond the immediate corners.
City oversight during construction period
Holladayโs municipal meeting calendar lists City Council and Planning Commission meetings in August 2026, while construction is scheduled to be underway. Those meetings provide the cityโs regular municipal oversight context during the project period.
A separate 2026 Wasatch Front Regional Council project document lists a Holladay City Commercial District Redevelopment Plan and Ordinance Update among awarded projects. That listing provides broader regional transportation and land-use planning context for Holladay, but it is separate from the UDOT intersection project identified as FA-2186.
For now, the next known project milestone is the planned start of construction as early as July 8. The work is expected to remain in progress through October, with additional traffic-control information needed to show when drivers will encounter specific restrictions at either intersection.
