Police investigate Thursday night incident

Kentwood police were called to the area of Ridgebrook Avenue and Carriage Hill Drive late Thursday evening following reports of gunfire. Officers located a juvenile with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening. The individual was treated and taken to a local hospital.

Police said evidence was found at the scene, and the investigation remains active. Authorities have indicated there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Kentwood Public Schools releases new performance data

Newly published statewide data shows Kentwood Public Schools ranking in the middle range among Michigan districts for math college readiness.
