House Fires Under Investigation

The Knoxville Fire Department is investigating two house fires that occurred within hours of each other. The first fire took place on Keith Avenue, where a garage attached to a residence was heavily damaged. Seven people and five dogs were in the home at the time, but no injuries were reported. The second fire occurred on Stair Avenue, affecting the front porch and door of the residence. Seven people were present, and all evacuated safely. The cause of both fires is under investigation.

The incident occurred around mile marker 383, and multiple fire and medical units responded to the scene. Recent Arrests

John Tory, 23, was arrested for aggravated arson following a house fire in the Beaumont community on January 28. The fire at 2101 Keith Avenue was suspected to be intentionally set after a domestic dispute. Tory is currently held at the Knox County Detention Facility.
