Stolen-vehicle chase ends in a crash near Flamingo

Las Vegas police say a pursuit of a reported stolen vehicle ended Thursday afternoon, Feb. 26, after a collision near Flamingo Road and Arville Street. Authorities said the chase began near Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road after officers attempted a traffic stop and the driver fled.

Police reported one person was taken into custody and no injuries were immediately reported. Drivers in the area were urged to avoid eastbound Flamingo as lanes were blocked during the response and cleanup.

Harry Reid International reports a January passenger dip

New monthly figures show Harry Reid International Airport served 4,021,130 passengers in January, down 7.9% compared with January 2025. Domestic travel made up most of the volume, while international traffic saw the sharper year-over-year drop.

Airport data also highlighted uneven airline performance, with some carriers gaining passengers while others posted steep declines.

‘When We Were Young’ to pause in 2026

Organizers of the When We Were Young Festival announced Friday, Feb. 27, that the event will take a hiatus in 2026. In their statement, they said the pause is meant to give the festival time and attention before its next run.

North Las Vegas hair-care drive returns for a fourth year

North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown is again leading a Black hair care product drive aimed at helping K–12 students access products that can be hard to find or expensive. The effort grew from student conversations about confidence and attendance, and last year’s drive drew thousands of donated items.
