Long Hill-area road work contract includes Stirling Road corridor improvements
Warren Township awarded Carroccia Co. Contractors a 2026 streets-overlay contract capped at $945,800, including work on Old Smalleytown Road from Stirling Road to Stiles Road.
The contract record, dated May 14, lists up to 10,000 tons of overlay and 80,000 square yards of milling. It also names Glenview Road, Upper Warren Way, Sage Drive, Garden Street, Berryhill Road, Plainfield Avenue, Gates Avenue, Chatham Place and Caldwell Place for overlay work. Township records say funding for the contract was certified as available.
The Old Smalleytown Road segment begins at Stirling Road, making it the portion of the contract most directly connected to the Stirling-area corridor. The work could affect nearby commuters and traffic while construction is underway, but the township record does not provide construction dates or traffic-control plans. No lane restrictions or closure schedule has been announced in the record.
The award authorizes Carroccia to perform the listed resurfacing work, subject to the contractโs maximum value. The $945,800 figure is a ceiling rather than a statement of final spending. The next known step is the scheduling and execution of the contracted road work; Warren Township has not publicly identified a construction start date in the contract record.
