Top story: Blooming Grove shooting under investigation

Dane County deputies are investigating after a 24-year-old Madison man was shot around 7:21 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, near the intersection of Gannon Avenue and Furey Avenue in the Town of Blooming Grove. Officials say a sedan sped up behind him and, as he began turning onto Furey, he was hit by gunfire and crashed. The man ran to a nearby home for help and was taken to UW Hospital. Investigators are asking for tips or video from the Gannon Avenue, Thurber Avenue, and N. Fair Oaks area.

West side: Teen arrested after stabbing

Madison police say a 17-year-old was arrested after a stabbing reported around 8:15 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Grand Canyon Drive. Officers said the victim stepped in during an argument and was taken to the hospital, with police expecting the person to be OK. The suspect, Cole S. Lietz, was booked on a first-degree recklessly endangering safety allegation.
