Shooting at McAllen Border Patrol Facility
McAllen, TX — February 5, 2026 — A shooting at a Border Patrol facility in McAllen resulted in one death and two injuries. The shooter was identified as 27-year-old Ryan Louis Mosqueda, who opened fire at the U.S. Border Patrol sector annex on Monday morning. Border Patrol agents and local police responded, fatally shooting Mosqueda. Two officers and a Border Patrol employee sustained injuries and were hospitalized. The incident is under investigation.
