The Norco Mounted Posse is hosting a barn dance fundraiser this evening, Saturday, February 7, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Posse Barn on Sixth Street. Doors open at 5:30, with live entertainment, dinner, a dessert bar and both live and silent auctions on the program. Organizers are also advertising a shotgun raffle and plenty of activities to keep the evening family friendly.

Proceeds support the volunteer equestrian group that assists with parades, traffic control and emergency responses throughout the year, making this one of the community’s key annual fundraisers.

Norco Brewing Co. is the backdrop for a pair of Saturday night gatherings. A paint night themed for couples is scheduled to start at 6 p.m., offering a relaxed date night where guests can sip and create art together. Civic Calendar: Meetings to Watch

After a City Council meeting earlier this week on Wednesday, February 4, attention turns to a string of commission sessions that shape day to day quality of life in Norco. The Streets, Trails and Utilities Commission met Monday, February 2, to discuss local infrastructure and trail issues, including how to balance equestrian access with vehicle traffic.

On Monday, February 9, the Parks and Recreation Commission is scheduled to convene in the council chamber, followed by the Planning Commission on Wednesday, February 11. The Veterans Commission is slated to meet on Monday, February 16, keeping services and recognition for local veterans on the front burner.

All meetings are planned for the council chamber behind City Hall, with public sessions in the evening.
