Fatal Shooting at Naval Station Norfolk

On Monday night, a civilian suspect approached the USS Mahan, a guided-missile destroyer docked at Naval Station Norfolk, disarmed a petty officer, and fatally shot a sailor. HIV Medication Contract Denied

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has refused to approve Norfolk’s contract with Bayview Plaza Pharmacy to provide antiretroviral drugs under the Ryan White CARE Act. As a result, Norfolk officials have instructed Bayview to cease filling prescriptions, leaving the city responsible for approximately $100,000 owed to the pharmacy for prior services.
