SRP Park job fair brings summer opportunities

SRP Park is busy today with a gameday job fair as the Augusta GreenJackets gear up for the 2026 season. The team and ballpark partners are hiring for a wide range of part-time roles, from ticket takers and ushers to concessions, grounds crew, camera operators, and the mascot team. Organizers say they are looking for friendly, reliable people who can work all home games and special events this spring and summer.

The job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the WOW Club inside the ballpark on Railroad Avenue. Applicants must be at least 16 years old, and they are encouraged to dress for an on-the-spot interview and bring a resume. For teens, college students, and retirees alike, it is one of the main local gateways into seasonal work in sports and entertainment.

Wind advisory brings choppy conditions

A Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect across the region, including North Augusta, as breezy conditions continue into Saturday. Forecasters expect gusty winds through the afternoon, which can create rough conditions on area lakes and make travel more difficult for high-profile vehicles. Outdoor burning is also discouraged because dry fuels and wind can allow small fires to spread quickly.

Residents spending time on Clarks Hill Lake or other nearby waters are urged to use extra caution, secure loose items, and wear life jackets when out on boats. Around town, today will feel cooler in the wind, even as temperatures climb, so layers are a good idea if you are heading to events or the ballpark.

Artists of Color exhibit anchors downtown arts scene

At the Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta, the fifth annual “Artists of Color” exhibit continues to draw visitors. The show, which runs through February 27, features work from a range of regional artists in multiple media, highlighting stories and perspectives that often do not get center stage. Admission is free, making it an easy cultural stop before or after lunch downtown.

A closing reception later this month will give residents another chance to meet artists, support local creators, and purchase original pieces. The exhibit adds to a growing lineup of winter events that are keeping the city’s arts calendar full, even in the colder months.
