North Hamilton Crossing Review Remains in Progress

North Hamilton Crossing remains in the federal environmental-review and permitting process, while Hamilton has not documented final approval of a proposed comprehensive-plan amendment to formally adopt the project.

The City of Hamilton canceled a July 2 public hearing on adding North Hamilton Crossing to Plan Hamilton because of scheduling issues and said the hearing would be rescheduled. The city notice did not provide a new hearing date.

The Federal Permitting Dashboard lists the environmental assessment as “in progress.” It gives July 15, 2026, as the target date for a final environmental assessment and Aug. 14, 2026, as the estimated date for concluding the environmental-review and permitting process. The public record does not establish whether the July target was met.

North Hamilton Crossing is proposed as an approximately 2.5-mile, four-lane boulevard from NW Washington Boulevard/North B Street to State Route 129 and Hampshire Drive. Plans include a new Great Miami River bridge, a grade-separated CSX/Norfolk Southern rail crossing, sidewalks, a shared-use path and landscaped medians. The next known steps are the environmental-review process and Hamilton’s rescheduled hearing and plan-amendment decision.
