House Fire in Olathe Leaves One Man Critically Injured
On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at approximately noon, Olathe Fire Department responded to a house fire near Bristol Lane and Welston Avenue. Firefighters rescued a man from the residence, who was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Another individual was also taken to the hospital in stable condition. The fire caused significant damage to the home, and an investigation into its cause is underway.
Deadly Crash in Olathe Under Investigation
On Saturday, January 4, 2026, at around 10:40 p.m., Olathe Police Department responded to a fatal crash at Northgate Street and East Harold Street. The crash was initially reported through an iPhone crash detection notification. Upon arrival, officers found a passenger vehicle that had struck a tree and was on fire. Two individuals were found deceased inside the vehicle after the fire was extinguished. The victims’ identities are pending autopsies, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
