Camping in the Park & Movie Night fills Coral Reef Park

The Village’s signature “Camping in the Park & Movie Night 2026” is underway this weekend at Coral Reef Park, with families pitching tents, enjoying games and crafts, and settling in for an outdoor movie under the lights. The event runs February 7–8 as part of the parks department’s winter lineup, and space is limited to registered participants.

We The Kingdom brings live music to Christ Fellowship campus

On Friday night, Christian band We The Kingdom brought a crowd to Christ Fellowship Church’s Palmetto Bay campus for a 6 p.m. concert, adding a major touring act to the local weekend calendar. The show was listed as part of the group’s Christian and gospel tour schedule and marked one of the higher-profile music events in the village so far this year.

Youth softball lights up Palmetto Bay Park

Howard Palmetto Baseball & Softball Association’s Winter/Spring girls softball season is in full swing, with multiple age divisions using the fields at Palmetto Bay Park. Friday’s schedule included evening games under the lights, and more league play is set for the coming week, keeping the park busy with local teams and families.

Civic calendar: Elections and charter work ahead

Looking a bit further out, the village is already posting information about the November 3, 2026 municipal election, when voters will choose a vice mayor and the District 2 council member, with a December 1 runoff date if needed. Residents are encouraged to verify their registration and stay tuned for candidate qualifying later this year.

The 2025 Charter Revision Commission is also meeting through the spring to review the Village Charter and prepare proposed amendments for the November 2026 ballot. Its next scheduled meeting is Wednesday, February 18, at 6 p.m. in Village Hall, and sessions are open to the public under Florida’s Sunshine laws.
