PennDOT scheduled lane restrictions on Richmond Road corridor serving Mt Bethel

Daytime lane restrictions were scheduled on the Richmond Road corridor serving Mt Bethel as PennDOT planned pothole patching in Lower Mount Bethel Township from June 22 through June 24, 2026.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation identified the work area as Richmond Road and Five Points Richmond Road, along the section between Belvidere Road and Mount Bethel Highway. The project directly affected drivers using that corridor during the announced work window.
PennDOT issued the road-work notice June 18. The department scheduled crews to work from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and warned motorists to expect delays and use caution in the work area.
What the schedule meant for drivers
The restrictions were planned for daytime hours, not as an overnight closure. People traveling through the corridor between Belvidere Road and Mount Bethel Highway could encounter slower movement or traffic backups while the patching work was underway.
PennDOT also said rain could delay the work. As a result, June 22-24 was a planned work window rather than confirmation that crews completed the project on each of those dates.
The notice did not provide a specific expected delay length, identify a full road closure or say how many potholes crews would patch. It also did not establish that the work caused a crash, financial loss or other reported incident.
Part of a larger local road network
Lower Mount Bethel Township’s public-works information provides broader infrastructure context. The township says it maintains approximately 34.99 miles of township roads and about 15 miles of PennDOT roads. Its public-works page also identifies a 2026 road-project program.
Those figures describe the road responsibilities associated with the township, while the Richmond Road notice specifically identified PennDOT as the agency announcing and scheduling this pothole-patching work. The record names Lower Mount Bethel Township as the relevant local government area; it does not treat Mt Bethel as a separate incorporated municipality.
What is confirmed—and what is not
The approved record confirms the location, type of work, scheduled dates, daily hours, lane restrictions, caution warning and possibility of rain delays. It does not confirm whether all three scheduled work days occurred or whether the patching was completed.
The record also does not include a newer August 2026 exact-place announcement replacing or updating the June notice. Residents and commuters seeking status after the scheduled window would need to consult a subsequent PennDOT or local road-work update.
