Pennsylvania awards $2 million for Connellsville mixed-use medical and commercial facility

Pennsylvania has awarded $2 million to Connellsville Commercial Revitalization for a planned mixed-use medical and commercial facility along Route 119 North in Connellsville.

Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration announced the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program award July 20, 2026. The Connellsville project was included in a broader announcement of $134 million for 100 projects across southwestern Pennsylvania.

The state describes the project as a new facility combining health-care and commercial uses. Planned components include an urgent-care center, medical offices, additional retail space and office space.

Planned Route 119 North development

The award advances a proposal that could add health-care services and commercial space along the Route 119 North corridor. The planned urgent-care center and medical offices could expand the types of services available locally, while the retail and office components would add space for businesses and professional activities.

The project also could generate construction activity as development moves forward. However, the award is not an announcement that construction has begun, and the planned medical services are not yet identified as operating.

The Pennsylvania announcement does not provide the project’s total development cost, construction start date, completion date, developer name or projected number of jobs. No opening date was included with the award announcement.

Part of a larger state investment

Pennsylvania said the southwestern Pennsylvania awards cover 100 projects with a combined value of $134 million. The Connellsville project is one of those awards and is identified specifically as a mixed-use medical and commercial facility in Fayette County.

The state also said total RACP investments since Shapiro took office have exceeded $1.05 billion across 767 projects. The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program provides state support for eligible capital projects, including construction and development efforts such as the Connellsville facility.

Separately, the Connellsville Redevelopment Authority has announced a public-hearing process for the city’s FFY 2026 Community Development Block Grant program. The city expected approximately $304,868 in FFY 2026 CDBG funding for community-development and housing needs. That process is separate from the $2 million RACP award, but it is part of the authority’s broader public-investment work in Connellsville.

The next milestones for the Route 119 North facility will depend on development and construction decisions. The state award establishes the public funding announced for the project, while the project’s construction schedule and final operating details remain to be determined.
