‘The Magician’s Elephant’ continues this weekend

A local theatre troupe is mid-run on ‘The Magician’s Elephant’ at a venue on East South Boundary Street, with shows tonight and Sunday. The family musical features a life-size elephant puppet and a local cast. Performances run through Sunday afternoon, giving families another chance to see a new production close to home.

Free community yoga on Sunday

On Sunday, Feb. 8, Zoar Lutheran Church on East Indiana Avenue will host a free “Yoga for Every Body” session. A certified instructor leads gentle movement that can be done on a mat or from a chair, making the class accessible for many ages and abilities. Organizers suggest bringing a mat or towel, and a free-will offering will be collected.

Winterfest 2026 less than two weeks away

Downtown organizers are gearing up for Winterfest 2026, set for Feb. 20–22 in historic downtown and at Levis Commons. Plans call for about 250 ice sculptures honoring America’s 250th birthday, along with carving demos, kids’ activities, s’mores stations, and a scavenger hunt. The festival is now less than two weeks away.

City committees meet early in the week

City Hall will be active on Monday, Feb. 9, with the Service Committee, Recreation Committee, Board of Zoning Appeals and Historic Landmarks Commission scheduled at the Municipal Building. On Tuesday, Feb. 10, the Civil Service Commission and the Finance and Economic Development Committee are expected to meet.
