Rochester dashboard shows crash data and safety investments
Rochester made a public, interactive dashboard available Oct. 14, giving residents and community leaders a way to explore traffic crashes and city safety investments through the ROC Vision Zero initiative. The launch came during Pedestrian Safety Month.
The City of Rochester says the dashboard displays crash trends, locations and severity, including traffic fatalities and serious crashes, information about people walking, biking and driving, driver demographics and crash characteristics. It also shows ongoing safety investments such as traffic-calming projects, bicycle-facility work and pedestrian refuge islands.
WXXI reported Oct. 16 that the dashboardโs data runs from 2023 through the current month. Users can filter tables and explore crash locations on a clickable map. The dashboard is available through the cityโs website.
The city said a comprehensive ROC Vision Zero year-end report was in progress and would provide a fuller update on progress, outcomes and ongoing work.
