Rochester, NY — February 3, 2026 — The Winter Festival is set for February 21 at Rochester Common, featuring music, hot cocoa, s’mores, and ice skating.


Winter Festival Returns to Rochester Common

The Winter Festival is set for Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 1–3 p.m. at Rochester Common (139 S. Main Street). This free, family-friendly event includes music, hot cocoa, s’mores, a touch-a-truck, and ice skating. Attendees are encouraged to bring food donations for the Raider Station Food Pantry at Spaulding High School. The event is hosted by the Rochester Recreation and Police Departments, with support from Rochester Main Street, the Commons Church, and Guyer Travel. Community Skate and Guns & Hoses Tournament

The Rochester Police and Fire Departments will host “Skate with a First Responder” on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Rochester Ice Arena, located at 63 Lowell Street. The community skate will run from 12:00–1:30 p.m., followed by Rochester’s Annual Guns & Hoses Hockey Tournament from 1:30–6:00 p.m., featuring Rochester and Dover fire and police teams.

Traffic Accidents

Several traffic accidents occurred over the weekend, resulting in injuries and traffic disruptions. Notably, a collision with injuries was reported on 71 Mt Hope Avenue near the Spectrum building on Sunday afternoon. Emergency responders evaluated and treated the individuals involved at the scene. Another incident took place on Route 104 eastbound near Portland Avenue, leading to injuries and traffic slowdowns. Paramedics provided medical care to those affected. Additionally, a collision on I-390 southbound near Lexington Avenue resulted in injuries and further traffic delays. Emergency medical services responded promptly to assist the individuals involved.

Residents are advised to exercise caution during winter weather conditions. A clipper system is bringing lingering light snow showers today, with minor accumulations possible.
