Winterfest takes over downtown

A village-wide Winterfest is set for today in and around the St. Agnes parking lot and Front Street, with nearby shops and restaurants joining in the fun. Organized by a local business group, the event is designed to draw neighbors outside for food, shopping and cold-weather cheer while supporting small businesses in the heart of the village.

Frozen Jr. wraps up at South Side

Over at South Side Middle School, the Drama Guild is closing its run of Disney’s Frozen Jr. with two Saturday performances, an afternoon matinee and an evening show. The student production has been running since Thursday and showcases middle school actors, musicians and stage crews who have been preparing for months. Families who have not yet gone still have a chance to catch the show before the curtain comes down tonight.

Wellness and family events this weekend

For residents looking for something quieter, local studios are offering a mix of wellness and family-friendly programs. A Mommy & Me yoga session is on the schedule this morning at a village yoga studio, with a family yoga class and an immersive sound bath experience listed for Sunday. Later in February, the same venues are planning a group reiki workshop, an herbalism class and a fundraiser class benefiting a local shelter, giving residents more ways to focus on health and community.(allevents.in)

Village updates and upcoming meetings

The village calendar remains busy next week as well. The Board of Trustees is slated to meet on Monday evening, February 9, at Village Hall, with a regular public meeting following a briefing session held earlier this week. Looking ahead, residents are reminded that Village Hall will be closed on Presidents Day, February 16. The village website also highlights this year’s holiday sanitation schedule, updated recycling guidance and applications for adding names to the 9/11 memorial wall for loved ones lost to related illnesses.
