Bicyclist Hospitalized After Collision in North Scottsdale
On Wednesday afternoon, a collision occurred between a car and a bicyclist near Bell Road and 94th Street, approximately half a mile east of the Loop 101 (Pima) freeway. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with injuries initially believed to be life-threatening; however, these were later downgraded to non-life-threatening. As of 4:30 p.m., eastbound traffic along Bell Road was closed, and northbound traffic on 94th Street was also halted at the intersection. Authorities stated that the area would remain closed until the Vehicle Crimes and Reconstruction Units completed their investigation into the cause of the crash. Woman Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run
Early Thursday morning, around 4:15 a.m., a woman was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene at Scottsdale Road and Belleview Street, just south of McDowell Road. The woman was found with serious injuries and was hospitalized in life-threatening condition. Investigators believe she was not in a crosswalk when the incident occurred. The driver involved fled before first responders arrived.
