Upperville-area voters have one early-voting day left before Aug. 4 primary
Upperville-area voters have one final scheduled day to vote early before Virginia’s Aug. 4, 2026, primary. Fauquier County’s early-voting period ends Saturday, Aug. 1, at 5:00 p.m.
Early voting is available from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Fauquier County Office of the General Registrar in Warrenton. The county’s notice identifies that office as the early-voting location; it does not list an early-voting site in Upperville.
Election Day hours
Voters who wait until Election Day can cast a ballot Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. An individual voter’s Election Day polling place may be different from the Warrenton early-voting location.
Before traveling, Upperville residents should use the Virginia Department of Elections voter-information tools and the Fauquier County registrar’s election resources to confirm registration status, assigned polling place, district information and the ballot available at their address.
Registration and mailed-ballot deadlines have passed
The regular deadline to register to vote or update an existing registration for the primary was July 24. The regular deadline to request a ballot to be mailed was also July 24.
Those deadlines are not extended by the final early-voting day. However, Virginia allows eligible voters to register and vote after the regular deadline through same-day registration. The registration must be completed in person at the appropriate early-voting location or at the voter’s designated polling place on Election Day.
Voters using same-day registration must cast a provisional ballot. That ballot is handled through the provisional-ballot process and is not the same as immediately casting a regular ballot.
Bring identification and check the ballot details
Virginia’s Department of Elections advises voters to present an acceptable form of identification when voting in person. The state maintains the current list of acceptable identification and voting guidance, so voters with questions should check that information before leaving home.
The Fauquier County registrar’s office provides links for registration checks, polling-place lookup, ballot information, mailed-ballot tracking and other election services. The county registrar can be reached at 540-422-8290.
For Upperville-area voters, the practical choice is straightforward: use the Warrenton office on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or vote at the assigned polling place on Tuesday, Aug. 4, between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Checking the official voter lookup tools first can help avoid a trip to the wrong location.
