Weekend Buzz: Dinosaurs, Live Music and Local Theater Take Center Stage in Winston-Salem
Winston-Salem, NC – March 22, 2026 – Dinosaurs roar at the Fairgrounds, live music fills downtown, and local theater celebrates Shakespeare this weekend.
It is a busy and family-friendly weekend across Winston-Salem, with big crowds expected at the Fairgrounds, downtown stages, and neighborhood venues.
Dinosaur Adventure stomps into the Fairgrounds
The Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Event Center is hosting Dinosaur Adventure through Sunday, March 22. The traveling exhibit features life-size, moving dinosaurs along with hands-on activities for children.
Families can explore fossil digs, themed obstacle courses, dinosaur rides and interactive displays. Organizers also offered a sensory-friendly time Sunday morning before general admission, creating a quieter environment for families who need it.
The event runs indoors and includes both general admission and activity-based passes. Parking is available on-site at the Fairgrounds.
Live music at Muddy Creek Cafe
Music fans are gathering Sunday afternoon at Muddy Creek Cafe and Listening Room for a special performance by singer-songwriter Dan Navarro, joined by Tim Easton. The 2 p.m. show brings nationally touring talent to one of downtown’s most intimate venues.
Navarro is known for his decades-long career in songwriting and voice work, while Easton has built a reputation as a seasoned troubadour. The concert adds to a packed weekend of arts programming across the city.
The Book of Will continues at The Little Theatre
The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem opened its production of The Book of Will this weekend, with performances continuing through March 29.
The play tells the true story of two friends working to preserve Shakespeare’s legacy after his death. With evening and matinee performances scheduled, the show is drawing theatergoers to Spruce Street for a mix of history, humor and heartfelt storytelling.
From prehistoric fun to live music and classic theater, Winston-Salem closes out the weekend with something for nearly every age and interest.
