Wells drivers check in: AAA Texas averages fall slightly June 22

AAA’s latest Texas fuel price check for June 22, 2026 shows a modest statewide dip for drivers—separately for regular gasoline and for on-highway diesel.

Texas regular gasoline average: $3.4180 per gallon as of 6/22/26, down from $3.4380 yesterday and from $3.5070 a week ago (AAA Texas averages).

Texas on-highway diesel average: $4.4170 per gallon as of 6/22/26, down from $4.4490 yesterday and from $4.6010 a week ago (AAA Texas averages).

Regular gas: a statewide easing since yesterday and last week i

For Wells commuters and weekend travelers, the key takeaway is that the statewide regular-gas trend eased again—so it’s a good time to re-check the pump price at the station you actually use.

Diesel: separate headline for contractors, deliveries, and farms i

Diesel is its own budget line. With AAA’s Texas on-highway diesel average moving lower both vs. yesterday and vs. last week, fleet-heavy work—service routes, deliveries, equipment maintenance, and food-service supply runs—may see less pressure than recent spikes. Still, local station prices can differ by timing and competition.

National backdrop (EIA): last week’s U.S. trend also leaned easing

EIA’s weekly update shows softer pricing at the national level for the most recently reported week: U.S. regular gasoline is listed at $4.052 for 06/15/26, down $0.094 vs. the prior week. On-highway diesel is $5.059 for 06/15/26, down $0.151 vs. a week earlier.

That supports the same general direction as AAA’s Texas averages—though it still doesn’t guarantee what you’ll pay in Wells at any given pump today.

Local note: Brookshire Brothers Express was listed below the Texas average last time we checked this station i

Brookshire Brothers Express in Wells (MapQuest listing) has been shown with regular at $2.45 and diesel at $3.19, but the page also notes the fuel prices were updated 3 weeks ago. Treat it as a comparison point, and confirm today’s posted pump price before you fill up.
