Winds Ease, Warmth Builds and Monster Jam Arrives in Albuquerque
Albuquerque, NM – March 12, 2026 – Gusty winds ease after a cold front, warmer temps build toward the weekend, and Monster Jam rolls into town today.
It has been a blustery stretch across parts of New Mexico, but calmer and warmer days are ahead for Albuquerque.
Cold Front Brings Midweek Winds
A cold front swept through the state Wednesday, kicking up strong winds across eastern counties and dropping temperatures slightly in some areas. While Albuquerque avoided the worst gusts, breezy conditions were still felt around the metro.
Forecasters say the cooler air was brief. High pressure is settling in, leading to clearer skies and a chilly start Thursday morning before temperatures rebound through the afternoon.
Warmer Weekend on the Way
Earlier-week showers and thunderstorms have moved out, and drier air is now in place. Temperatures are expected to climb steadily through Friday, with the potential for near-record warmth by Saturday.
The warming trend means sunny afternoons and mild evenings for much of the metro area. It is a welcome shift after several days of unsettled conditions across the state.
Monster Jam Truck Display Today
On the events front, Monster Jam is rolling into Albuquerque this weekend at Tingley Coliseum. Ahead of the shows, a special truck display featuring Grave Digger is scheduled for Thursday afternoon from 3 to 7 p.m. at an auto parts store along Central Avenue SE.
The main events begin Friday night and continue through Sunday, with multiple showtimes planned. Organizers encourage fans to arrive early for pre-show activities and driver appearances.
With improving weather and major family entertainment in town, Albuquerque is heading into a busy and much warmer stretch to close out the week.
