Police are asking for tips after a late-night report of shots fired in the 3000 block of Border Road. The victim, a DoorDash driver, told officers her vehicle was struck multiple times as she entered an apartment complex to make a delivery.

Police said four vehicles were damaged by gunfire, along with one occupied apartment. The report described at least five suspects; one was described as a male wearing a blue jacket, and two others were described as wearing black hoodies with hoods up.

City presses Dominion Energy for answers on higher-than-typical electric bills

After residents reported unusually high electric bills, the City Manager sent a request to Dominion Energy for information and clarification. City officials said the outreach was made at the direction of City Council, and that the letter and any response will be shared through City Council materials.

Special election voter guide posted ahead of April 21 vote

The city posted a voter guide for the April 21 statewide special election, highlighting key deadlines and local voting logistics for Chesapeake residents.

VDOT: Overnight I-64 ramp and express-lane closures in Chesapeake

Drivers should plan for overnight impacts tied to work along I-64. VDOT listed on-ramp closures from Greenbrier Parkway north to I-64 east late Friday into Saturday morning, plus a separate set of full eastbound express-lane closures next week between Indian River Road and I-464.
