Port St. Lucie Headlines: State Farm Bill Signed, PSL Fest This Weekend, Safety Festival Ahead
Here’s a look at what’s making news in and around Port St. Lucie as of Wednesday, March 25.
Florida Farm Bill Signed Into Law
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Florida’s 2026 Farm Bill into law on March 23. The wide-ranging agriculture measure is scheduled to take effect July 1 and includes several provisions that could affect communities across the state.
The legislation places limits on how local governments regulate gas-powered equipment and adds protections for agricultural land facing high-density development. It also expands support for food banks and livestock veterinarians.
Although the bill applies statewide, it carries meaningful implications for St. Lucie County’s agricultural sector and for food distribution partners serving families throughout the Treasure Coast.
PSL Fest Returns March 28–29
PSL Fest is back this weekend at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center, bringing two days of family-friendly entertainment to Port St. Lucie.
The festival runs Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Attractions include live entertainment, a free cirque-style show, monster truck rides, axe throwing, food vendors, and activities designed for all ages.
Organizers say a portion of proceeds, along with collected food items, will benefit the Treasure Coast Food Bank — adding a charitable component to the weekend’s festivities.
Safety Festival Set for April 25 at Clover Park
Looking ahead on the spring calendar, the St. Lucie County Safety Festival is scheduled for April 25 at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie.
The annual event spotlights local first responders with live demonstrations, touch-a-truck experiences, kids’ zones, and safety education booths. It’s designed to give families an up-close look at the people and equipment that help keep the community safe.
A returning highlight is the Fun Run for Education, which raises money for public school students and teachers. Organizers are expecting strong participation as families map out their April plans.
