Sheboygan County Seeks Transit Input, RDA Reviews Loan, Library Closes for Holiday
Sheboygan, WI – April 3, 2026 – County leaders seek transit input, the RDA reviews a late loan payment, and Mead Library adjusts hours.
It’s a busy start to April for local government and public services in Sheboygan, with transportation planning, business oversight, and holiday closures all in focus.
County Seeks Transportation Committee Member
Sheboygan County is now accepting applications to fill a Consumer Advocate seat on its Transportation Coordinating Committee. The volunteer role carries a two-year term and includes quarterly meetings at the Aging and Disability Resource Center.
The committee works to improve access to transportation for older adults, residents with disabilities, and others who rely on public or shared transit. County officials say the Consumer Advocate plays a key role in representing riders’ needs as services are coordinated across the region.
Applications are due by April 17 at 4:30 p.m.
Redevelopment Authority Reviews Late Loan Payment
The Sheboygan Redevelopment Authority met this week to discuss a late payment tied to a business loan issued through a city-backed program. The matter was the only item on the Authority’s April 1 agenda.
RDA oversight of business loans is part of the city’s broader economic development strategy, which uses revolving loan funds and other tools to support commercial investment and job retention. Officials are expected to determine next steps based on the status of the delinquent payment.
Mead Public Library Closed for Good Friday
Mead Public Library is closed Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday. Regular hours are expected to resume Saturday.
The temporary closure affects in-person services, though many digital resources remain available to cardholders. Residents planning visits are encouraged to check updated hours before heading downtown.
