Port St. Lucie Gas Falls to $3.87 While Diesel Holds Above $5.45

Regular gasoline prices in Port St. Lucie moved lower in AAA’s July 31, 2026, price check, while diesel remained above $5.45 per gallon. The split offers some relief to gasoline commuters but little change for diesel-dependent businesses and drivers.

Regular gas falls below $3.90

AAA listed Port St. Lucie’s regular gasoline average at $3.874 per gallon, down 2.4 cents from the previous daily check, when the average was $3.898.

The latest average was also below the prior week’s $3.995 per gallon. That means gasoline drivers are seeing a modest improvement compared with both the previous day and the same point last week, although the AAA figure is a market average rather than the price posted at every station.

Diesel remains much more expensive

Diesel averaged $5.457 per gallon in the same AAA update. That was slightly lower than the previous check, but the decline was only about half a cent.

Diesel remained higher than each of the comparison points listed by AAA: $5.347 a week earlier, $4.605 a month earlier and $3.640 a year earlier. The year-over-year difference is especially significant for businesses that rely on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.

What the split could mean locally

For households using gasoline vehicles, the lower regular-gas average may trim weekly driving costs, particularly for commuters with long trips or multiple vehicles. The savings will vary by station, neighborhood, brand, loyalty program, taxes and the timing of a purchase.

Diesel-heavy operators continue to face a more difficult cost picture. Contractors, delivery companies, landscapers, service businesses and fleet operators may have less room in their operating budgets when fuel remains well above its levels from a month or a year earlier. Those costs can affect route planning, delivery charges, service pricing and the cost of moving materials, but the price data does not document how any particular Port St. Lucie business has responded.
