Clarksville Gas Prices Ease as Diesel Rises in Latest Check
Clarksville TN โ Regular gas slipped in the latest metro check, but diesel climbed, keeping fuel costs important for commuters, fleets, and local businesses.
Regular gasoline eased while diesel moved higher in the latest Clarksville-area fuel check, giving drivers and businesses two different price trends to watch. AAAโs Clarksville-Hopkinsville metro table listed regular gas at $3.480 per gallon and diesel at $4.920 as of July 31, 2026.
Gasoline edged lower
AAA reported that the metro average for regular gasoline was down 1.9 cents from the previous day and 1.9 cents below the level recorded one week earlier. The decline is modest, but it offers some relief for commuters and households filling up passenger vehicles.
Even with the short-term easing, regular gasoline remained higher than it was one month and one year earlier, according to AAAโs comparison data. That means a small daily decline does not necessarily translate into lower fuel costs for families planning monthly budgets or longer drives.
Diesel moved in the opposite direction
Diesel prices rose 2.3 cents from the previous day and were up 14.8 cents from one week earlier. AAAโs metro average stood at $4.920 per gallon, making the increase more significant for drivers and businesses that use diesel regularly.
Higher diesel costs can affect more than individual drivers. Contractors, delivery operators, landscapers, farms, service companies, restaurants and other businesses may face added operating pressure when fuel prices rise. Those costs can influence route planning, job estimates, delivery expenses and the price of goods or services, although the fuel data alone does not show how any specific local business is responding.
One Clarksville station is below the metro averages
A 7-Eleven listing for 3808 Guthrie Highway in Clarksville showed regular gas at $3.299 per gallon and diesel at $4.799. The station page says its gas prices are updated within 24 hours.
Those listed prices were below the AAA Clarksville-Hopkinsville metro averages by about 18.1 cents for regular gasoline and 12.1 cents for diesel. The station listing is only a single-station snapshot, not a citywide average. Prices can vary by location, timing, payment method and how recently a listing was updated.
For commuters and weekend travelers, comparing nearby stations may help limit the effect of the mixed movement. Diesel users, in particular, may want to check prices before filling work vehicles, trucks or equipment because the weekly increase is larger than the change in regular gasoline.
