Concord Council Approves Navy Deal for 2,422-Acre Reuse Site
Concord City Council unanimously approved a U.S. Navy term sheet May 27 covering the price and payment terms for approximately 2,422 acres at the former Concord Naval Weapons Station.
The vote advances the city’s long-running effort to reuse the former military property through an Economic Development Conveyance. The term sheet is supported by master developer Brookfield Properties and addresses the financial framework for transferring and redeveloping the site.
The agreement does not mark the end of the approval process. The Navy was still reviewing the term sheet after the council vote, and additional planning and entitlement work remains before the redevelopment can move into later stages.
