Saudi Arabiaโs reported death toll from the Oct. 21 attack at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam rose to two after another person died, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said. Eight people were injured.
An earlier account reported one death and eight injuries. The later update changed the death toll, while the number injured remained eight. The dead were identified as a Saudi citizen and an Indian resident. The injured included Saudi, Indian, Yemeni, Bangladeshi and Nepalese residents; their reported injuries ranged from minor to critical, and they were receiving care at several hospitals.
Flights had been diverted in an earlier report. A later account said airport operations had resumed and air traffic was back to normal, while damage assessment continued. GACA said it was continuing safety measures for passengers and airport personnel. The Associated Press reported that Saudi authorities had not identified who was responsible or provided further details about the attack.
