Woman, 69, dies after Garden Grove hit-and-run; driver arrested

A 69-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle near Harbor Boulevard and Palm Avenue in Garden Grove at about 11:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, police said. She was taken to a hospital and later died.
Police said a witness called 911, then followed a white Cadillac SRX after it left the scene until officers stopped it. The male driver was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Police said impairment was believed to have contributed, but described it as a suspected factor, not a confirmed finding. An arrest on suspicion is not a determination of guilt.
Police asked witnesses and anyone else with information about the collision to contact Investigator Reed at 714-741-5230 while the investigation continues. The request is open to people with information, not only those who witnessed the impact.
