Albuquerque gas hits $4.12 and diesel $5.32 as fuel costs keep climbing
Albuquerque’s latest AAA check shows regular gas at $4.122 and diesel at $5.319, both up sharply from last week and still climbing.
Albuquerque drivers are seeing a sharp jump at the pump. AAA’s April 30 metro check put regular gas at $4.122 a gallon and diesel at $5.319.
Regular gas is up 17.5 cents from yesterday, 43.8 cents from a week ago, 26.6 cents from a month ago, and $1.22 from a year ago. That hits commuters first, especially longer cross-town drives and households filling up more than once a week.
Diesel rose 8.5 cents from yesterday, 21 cents from last week, 12.6 cents from last month, and $2.066 from a year ago. That keeps the pressure on contractors, delivery drivers, haulers, restaurants, and other fuel-heavy businesses.
For context, New Mexico averages $4.075 for regular and $5.324 for diesel, while the U.S. average is $4.300 for regular and $5.496 for diesel. Albuquerque is still below the national average for regular gas, but diesel remains an expensive line item for local fleets and small operators.
