Spokane Valley fuel check: gas eases, diesel nears $6
Regular gasoline eased slightly in the Spokane metro on Monday, August 3, while diesel remained just below $6 per gallon. AAA listed the metro averages at $4.841 for regular gas and $5.990 for diesel.
Regular gas is down for the day, up over longer comparisons
AAA’s Spokane metro regular-gas average was down 0.5 cents from the previous day. It was still up 1.0 cent from a week earlier, 29.8 cents from a month earlier and 83.9 cents from a year earlier.
Washington’s statewide regular-gas average was higher at $5.127 per gallon. The national regular-gas average was $4.095, providing broader context but not a Spokane Valley pump price.
Diesel remains near $6
The Spokane metro diesel average was down 2.3 cents from the previous day, but it was up 10.4 cents from a week earlier, 39.4 cents from a month earlier and $1.059 from a year earlier.
AAA listed Washington’s diesel average at $6.163 per gallon. The statewide figure is not a Spokane Valley average, but it shows the continued cost pressure facing diesel users across the region.
Local stations can vary widely
A Spokane Valley station-listing page showed regular gasoline prices ranging from $4.49 to $5.14 on July 19, 2026. Those were dated station listings, not a current August 3 citywide average, and individual pumps may have changed since then.
That variation makes checking more than one station worthwhile, especially for drivers making large fill-ups. Commuters and households may notice the difference over a full tank, while contractors, delivery drivers, trucking operators and service businesses face additional exposure through diesel and gasoline use.
Fuel costs can also work through local operating expenses for restaurants, suppliers, landscapers and other businesses that depend on deliveries or vehicle fleets. Weekend travelers may want to compare prices along their route before leaving Spokane Valley.
