AUSA Events, Planning Talks and Council Meeting Lead Busy Week in Huntsville

It is a packed midweek in Huntsville as national defense leaders, local officials and residents gather for several key events shaping the city’s future.

AUSA Global Force Symposium Underway

The Von Braun Center is hosting the AUSA Global Force Symposium & Exposition from March 24–26, drawing defense industry leaders, military officials and contractors from across the country. The annual event is one of Huntsville’s largest conferences and highlights Redstone Arsenal’s central role in national defense.

Alongside the symposium, a veteran-focused hiring event titled ‘Your Next Mission’ is taking place March 25. More than 30 companies are participating, offering employment opportunities and resume support for veterans, transitioning service members and military families.

Planning Commission Meets Tuesday

The Huntsville Planning Commission met Tuesday, March 24, to review development proposals and zoning requests. With steady residential and commercial growth across north Alabama, planning discussions continue to focus on infrastructure, land use and long-term expansion.

Recent meetings have addressed new subdivisions, retail projects and roadway considerations as the city works to balance growth with traffic and utility capacity.

City Council Set for Thursday Session

The Huntsville City Council is scheduled to meet Thursday, March 26, at City Hall. Council meetings typically include public hearings, budget considerations and votes on development agreements.

With several large-scale projects moving through the pipeline, upcoming council sessions are expected to touch on infrastructure improvements and ongoing economic development initiatives.
