Charlotte housing committee to examine whether city rules should require air conditioning

Charlotte’s Housing Committee will examine whether the city’s Minimum Housing Code should require air conditioning during a meeting Monday, but the discussion will not decide whether such a rule takes effect.

The committee’s agenda lists the item as “Information and Discussion.” Housing and Neighborhood Services staff are scheduled to review current city cooling initiatives and the information officials need to evaluate possible policy or ordinance changes.
