Fresno police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a 13-year-old boy hurt in central Fresno. Officers say the incident unfolded Monday night near Thesta Street and Grant Avenue, close to Belmont. Investigators say a vehicle collided with a parked car, and people connected to the parked vehicle got out and became involved in a disturbance with neighbors who witnessed the crash before running off. During the chaos, police say the teen pedestrian was struck. Officers reported the boy was conscious and breathing when he was taken to the hospital, and the people involved had not been located as of Tuesday morning.

In another developing case, police say they are investigating a stabbing reported Tuesday in a neighborhood near Polk and Olive. Federal case: Fresno kidnapping defendant pleads guilty
A Fresno woman pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to kidnapping charges tied to a 2024 case involving a mother and her 9-year-old daughter, according to prosecutors. Court documents describe the abduction as retaliation after the mother reported her boyfriend following a domestic violence incident. Authorities say the victims were transported south and, after an attempted escape at a gas station, a stun gun was used to force the mother back into a vehicle and the child was pulled back in as well. Prosecutors say the pair were ultimately left at a bus station in Tijuana. Sentencing is scheduled for May 18, 2026, and a co-defendant is set for trial April 23, 2026.
