Fresno gas prices are back near $6, and diesel is still punishing local fleets
Fresno’s latest AAA check shows regular gas back near $6 and diesel still above $7.45, keeping pressure on commuters and work crews.
Fresno drivers got another expensive AAA metro check on April 30: regular gasoline averaged $5.925 a gallon and diesel averaged $7.462. Regular was up 3.4 cents from yesterday, 19.6 cents from a week ago, 15.7 cents from a month ago, and $1.172 from a year ago. Diesel was essentially flat day to day, but it was still up 1.3 cents week over week, 28.1 cents month over month, and $2.41 from a year ago.
That regular-gas move matters for commuters and anyone who fills up often. A weekly jump of nearly 20 cents adds up fast for school runs, job-site driving, sales calls, and weekend trips out of the Valley.
Diesel is the bigger pain point for contractors, delivery drivers, farmers, restaurants, and other fuel-heavy businesses. Even without a sharp one-day spike, a gallon above $7.45 keeps pressure on operating costs, freight, and service pricing.
Fresno is still paying more than the U.S. average and is only a touch under California’s average. California was at $6.010 for regular and $7.483 for diesel, while the U.S. averages were $4.300 and $5.496. If you are topping off this week, it still pays to compare stations.
