Garland Pump Prices Stay Uneven as Dallas Diesel Eases Above $5

Dallas-area regular gasoline and diesel prices both eased on July 31, but diesel remained above $5 in the metro average. AAA listed regular gas at $3.592 per gallon, down from $3.619 the previous day, while diesel fell to $5.133 from $5.158.

Garland station listings showed why drivers should not treat the regional averages as a citywide pump price. Regular gas and diesel varied by location, and station prices can change after a listing is posted.

Garland regular-gas listings clustered near $3.70

A Garland price tracker updated July 31 at 9:41 p.m. Central and using GasBuddy data listed regular gasoline at $3.69 per gallon at Sam’s Club, $3.74 at Murphy USA, $3.77 at 7-Eleven, $3.78 at RaceTrac and $3.79 at QuikTrip. It also listed $3.85 at a 76 station.

The $3.69 Sam’s Club figure was identified as a membership price, so it may not be available to every driver. These are chain-level and station-tracker listings, not a calculated Garland citywide average.

Individual 7-Eleven pages showed a different local snapshot

July 31 snapshots from three 7-Eleven Garland station pages showed regular gasoline at $3.499 per gallon at 806 W. Centerville Road, $3.099 at 2509 Firewheel Parkway and $3.259 at 501 E. Interstate 30. The same snapshots listed diesel at $4.359, $4.199 and $3.999, respectively.

The 7-Eleven pages said fuel prices had been updated within 24 hours. Because those pages are dynamic, the figures should be read as station-specific July 31 snapshots rather than a guarantee of what was posted later. Differences between the 7-Eleven pages and the Garland tracker may reflect timing, location or pricing-method differences.

What the spread means for Garland drivers and businesses

At the three cited 7-Eleven regular-gas listings, the difference between $3.099 and $3.499 per gallon would be about $6 on a 15-gallon fill-up. For commuters, households with multiple vehicles and workers making frequent service calls, repeated station-level differences can add up over a month.

Fuel costs also affect contractors, landscapers, delivery operators, restaurants, repair companies and other service businesses. Diesel prices can influence route planning, delivery charges and the cost of labor-intensive work, even when a particular Garland station is below the Dallas-area diesel average.

AAA’s July 31 Dallas metro table showed regular gas and diesel both lower than the previous day’s averages. Regional diesel, however, remained substantially more expensive than regular gas. AAA listed the Dallas metro week-ago averages at $3.753 for regular gas and $4.970 for diesel, compared with month-ago averages of $3.147 and $4.194.

Drivers planning weekend travel or a full week of commuting may want to compare nearby stations before filling up. Businesses with gasoline or diesel vehicles can also check prices along regular routes rather than assuming every station in Garland is charging the same amount.
