GE Aerospace Expands Huntsville Operations
Huntsville’s aerospace footprint is growing again. GE Aerospace announced a $55 million investment in its Huntsville-area facility to expand production of advanced materials used in aircraft engines.
The funding will support new equipment and building upgrades, strengthening North Alabama’s role in the national aerospace supply chain. Company leaders say the investment is part of a broader nationwide manufacturing push in 2026.
Rocket City Hosts Conference USA Tournament
College basketball fans are filling the Von Braun Center this week as Huntsville hosts the 2026 Conference USA men’s basketball tournament, running March 10–14.
Quarterfinal matchups tipped off March 12, bringing high-stakes postseason play and a boost in downtown traffic for local restaurants and hotels.
The tournament keeps national attention on the Rocket City as teams battle for an automatic NCAA Tournament berth.
Space Command Leader to Keynote GEOHuntsville Summit
Huntsville’s growing influence in geospatial intelligence and space innovation will take center stage March 26 at the GEOHuntsville Summit at the Huntsville Botanical Garden.
Lt. Gen. Richard L. Zellmann, deputy commander of U.S. Space Command, is scheduled to deliver a keynote address as part of the ‘Rocket City Rising’ theme.
City leaders say the summit highlights the region’s expanding role in artificial intelligence, national security and workforce development.
Live Music at Mars Music Hall
For those looking to head out tonight, hip-hop artist Akeem Ali performs at VBC Mars Music Hall at 8 p.m., joined by Translee and Deante Hitchcock.
