Grapevine accepts applications for volunteer-supported home repairs through 6 Stones

Grapevine is accepting applications from qualifying homeowners seeking help with necessary exterior repairs through the Community Powered Revitalization program, a partnership involving the city, 6 Stones and community volunteers.

The program pairs eligible Grapevine homeowners with volunteers from businesses, churches, civic organizations and other community groups. Typical work may include replacing rotted wood, painting, fencing and yard cleanup.

Who may qualify

The applicant must be the legal owner of the property and live at the address. The revised June 2026 application packet also requires the homeowner to have lived in the residence for at least two years and meet the program’s household-income restrictions.

Applicants must meet at least one qualifying circumstance: being 62 or older, handicapped, disabled, a veteran or a spouse of a veteran, or a single head of household with children under 18 living at home.

The packet includes an income chart adopted from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington fiscal year 2023 figures. Applicants should review the chart in the current packet rather than assume the limits were newly updated for 2026.

Repairs focus on the outside of the home

The city says the program is intended for homeowners who cannot complete necessary work because of difficulties or circumstances beyond their control. The application asks residents to describe the exterior repairs they believe are needed.

Examples listed in the packet include rotted-wood replacement, painting, fencing and yard cleanup. The application materials state that work is performed at no charge by volunteers, but the program does not promise that every requested repair will be completed.

How to apply

Applicants should complete the packet in its entirety and mail it to the City of Grapevine City Manager’s Office at P.O. Box 95104, Grapevine, Texas 76099.

The packet also allows in-person delivery Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at City Hall’s second floor, 200 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051. Questions may be directed to the City Manager’s Office at 817-410-4104.

Applicants should submit the requested financial documentation with the packet, including tax returns or Social Security payment information for all working household members. The city may request additional documentation to verify information in the application.

Application does not guarantee repairs

Submitting an application begins an eligibility review, but it does not guarantee that a homeowner will qualify or receive assistance.

If a homeowner is found eligible, the address is added to a list shared with participating volunteer organizations. Those organizations ultimately select the homes they will serve and determine which requested repairs they can complete. Because the program relies on volunteers, the packet says there is no guaranteed timeline and that only part of the requested work may be completed.
