Shively nightclub killing: new charges
Two convicted felons have been charged in what police described as an ‘ambush-style’ shooting outside a Shively nightclub that left 26-year-old Rodney Parker dead and another man injured. Investigators said roughly 60 shots were fired outside Club 7 on 7th Street Road in the early hours of Feb. 2, with the case moving forward through the courts as detectives continue working leads.
Highlands: car hits Bardstown Road ramen spot
A car crashed into Kiwami Ramen on Bardstown Road on Saturday, Feb. 28, forcing the restaurant to temporarily close. The business said guests and staff were safe, but the crash damaged the building; a reopening timeline hasn’t been announced.
YMCA Black Achievers: teen honored with scholarship
At the YMCA’s 47th annual Black Achievers Awards Celebration on Saturday, Feb. 28, Kennedi Wathen was named the 2026 Black Achiever of the Year and accepted $6,000 in scholarships.
