Regular gas differs by 42 cents

The 7-Eleven at 11724 Quivira Road lists regular gasoline at $3.479 per gallon. The location at 10701 Metcalf Avenue lists regular gasoline at $3.899.

That is a 42-cent difference between the two locations. For a 15-gallon fill-up, the higher-priced station would cost about $6.30 more before taxes or payment-program discounts.

Diesel shows the larger spread

Diesel is listed at $4.299 per gallon at Quivira Road and $4.999 at Metcalf Avenue, a 70-cent difference. A 25-gallon fill-up would differ by about $17.50 at those listed prices.

The diesel gap is considerably larger than the regular-gas gap. That can matter for contractors, delivery operators, landscapers, restaurants with supply runs, service businesses and other operators that refuel work vehicles or equipment in larger quantities.

The gaps widened from the last check

Compared with the previous same-site check, the regular-gas spread widened from 2 cents to 42 cents. The diesel spread widened from 10 cents to 70 cents.

Quivira Road is the cheaper of the two checked stations for both fuel types. That does not establish that it is the least expensive station in Overland Park, because this comparison covers only two locations and pump prices can change at different times.
