Palmdale Begins Palmdale Boulevard Road Rehabilitation Project

Construction began July 13 on the City of Palmdale’s Palmdale Boulevard Arterial Road Rehabilitation Project, identified as PN 869-A. The work is expected to bring construction-related traffic effects to a major city corridor.

The city’s road-construction notice also lists intermittent closure of the northbound No. 1 lane on 65th Street West between Cielo Vista Drive and West Avenue M during the week of July 27 through Aug. 2. Motorists using that segment should allow for possible delays and changing traffic conditions.

The city notice does not state the project’s total cost or a completion date. The next listed construction impact is the scheduled 65th Street West lane closure period.

Separate housing project modification

A June 8 California environmental notice records a modification to the density-bonus agreement for the previously approved Bana at Palmdale Apartments at 38732 9th Street East. The project involves 48 housing units on a vacant one-acre site.

The modification changes minimum floor-height requirements—from 18 feet to 12 feet on the ground floor and from 10 feet to 9.5 feet on upper floors. It does not change the approved land use or development intensity.
